01 — The Problem

Ten minutes of pure guesswork, every morning, in every district in America.

Parents stand on curbs refreshing nothing. Office phones ring with “where’s the bus?” calls. Drivers communicate through a chain of three people. A delay travels by rumor.

The bus already knows where it is. It has a GPS, a driver, a route, a roster, a schedule. None of that information reaches the people who need it most. NextStop closes that loop.

02 — What each role gets

Three apps. One shared truth: the bus, right now.

Parents

A calm morning, every morning.

  • 01Live bus on a real map, not a status text
  • 02Push when the bus departs, approaches, and arrives
  • 03Message the driver without ever seeing their number
  • 04Every child, every school, in one view

Drivers

Hands on the wheel. Everything else handled.

  • 01One-tap route start with turn-by-turn nav
  • 02Broadcast delays to every parent in a single tap
  • 03Pickup & dropoff confirmation per student
  • 04Hands-free notification mode while moving

Schools

Run the fleet from a single dashboard.

  • 01Manage students, routes, drivers, vehicles
  • 02Closed enrollment — verified against school records
  • 03Live tracking and incident replay on demand
  • 04White-label brandable for districts

03 — The Dashboard

For the school office: everything on one screen.

The Command Center is what the front desk leaves open all day. Active routes, on-time performance, and the live position of every bus — without a phone call.

04 — How it works

Up and running in three steps.

  1. 01

    School uploads its roster.

Students, routes, and parent emails arrive in NextStop the way they already live in your SIS. Verified, scoped to school, ready in an afternoon.

  2. 02

    Parents are matched and invited.

Parents already on file get an invite to the app. We match against records you provide — no sign-up codes, no open registration, no guessing.

  3. 03

    Drivers start the route.

The first morning the driver taps Start, parents see the bus on the map. The phone calls to the office stop the same week.

05 — Security & Privacy

Built around student privacy from day one.

NextStop runs on a closed enrollment model. Access to a child’s location is derived from a parent-student relationship the school confirms — not from an open token, not from a sign-up code. Every architectural decision was made with FERPA, district policy, and student safety in mind.

Read the security overview
  • Closed enrollment

Parents are matched against records the school provides. No public signup.

  • FERPA-aligned

Data access is scoped to the parent–student relationship, not the org.

  • SOC 2 Type II In progress

Annual independent audit covering security, availability, and confidentiality. Report under NDA.

  • Driver privacy

Parents message drivers without ever seeing a phone number or address.

  • Data residency

US-region only. Encrypted in transit and at rest. No third-party ad SDKs.

  • Right to deletion

Schools own the data. Export and purge on demand, district-wide.

06 — Get started

Ready to stop the “where’s the bus?” calls?

We’re onboarding schools for the 2026–27 year now. A 20-minute call is enough to know if NextStop fits your district.
